Biography
Nicole Abeleda, LCSW (She/They)
Nicole Abeleda received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento in 2017. In May 2020, Nicole graduated from Boston College with a Masters in Social Work and concentration in Clinical Mental Health, with a concentration in Neuroscience, and was awarded the Dean’s Leadership Award.
Nicole has worked in direct service, advocacy, and education through her roles as a Health Advocate for the Gender Health Center in Sacramento; Director for a Before and After School Program working with school aged youth; Graduate Assistant at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for LBGTQ+ Services; group therapy facilitator for LGBTQ+ adults; and working as an Elder Mental Health Outreach Intern providing in home therapy and crisis services for a non-profit organization.
She has years of experience as an advocate for social justice, community organizer, providing outreach, cultural responsiveness, direct action, change and systems work, and group facilitation. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has experience with children, adults and families, and LGBTQIA+ populations in behavioral health.
