Elica Resource Center

The Elica Resource Center empowers patients (and not only, since we are ready to help anyone) by connecting them to the people, places, and resources that enable them to build healthy and full lives.
Because the natural bonds of human dignity surpass geographic, ethnic, or cultural boundaries, the Immigrant resource center believes all residents of Sacramento, Yolo and Placer County have the right for information that will enable them to become full members of society.

Our Mission

At the Resource Center by Elica Health Centers, we are committed to providing quality informational services, emphasizing prevention and health education.

Founded in 2020, in partnership with other organizations, Elica Resource Center (ERC) serves the needs of low-income, multi-ethnic populations throughout the greater Sacramento area, particularly immigrant communities, including Slavic and others.

ERC advocates for resources to enhance the physical, social, emotional and economic health of residents in the greater Sacramento area.

The Difference

How are we different from others?
A resource center - this is not a new idea for Sacramento, but the Elica Resource Center has one unique feature. We do not ask who you are. Regardless if you are: a refugee, green card lottery winner, a tourist who wants to change status, a bride or wife, a groom or a husband, an immigrant with a work visa or with an O1 visa.
We do not divide immigrants by status, we provide support to everyone who contacts us.

Our Services

Our services include but not limited to the following:

  • Community closet (clothes, shoes, backpacks, toiletries, toys, and more)
  • Food pantry (dry and canned goods, fresh fruits and vegetables, bottled water, and more)
  • Assistance in navigating when encountering difficulties and questions after appointments (e.g. making a laboratory appointment, help with making an appointment to the provider after the referral, translation services if only English is spoken at that clinic)
  • Assistance in communicating with insurance companies (for transportation, translators in clinics by referral, etc.)
  • Translation of vaccination cards to English
  • Assistance with filling out forms for Medi-Cal and other programs
  • Help finding food banks
  • Opportunities for receiving additional services
  • Search for free services for undocumented immigrants
  • Help finding free furniture and clothes
  • Help with finding information resources in different spheres of life

Language Assistance

Today, many programs for the integration of immigrants work in Sacramento, Yolo and Placer County. New immigrants do not have enough information to start using them. Our survey showed that more than 40% of new immigrants do not know about the existence of food banks, more than 30% of new immigrants do not know about the existence of ESL classes, more than 70% of new immigrants do not know where to get information about support programs. If the immigrant is not a refugee, he often does not have access to information. One reason is the language barrier.

At ERC, we have staff who speak multiple languages (including Spanish, Russian, Dari, Pashto, Ukrainian, Arabic, and more) and are able to assist a variety of patrons, no matter the background or status of a person.
