Today marks the addition of a new location, the 5th of the year, to the network of Elica Health Centers in the Sacramento region, bringing our total number of sites to eight.
Located at 804 Harbor Blvd in West Sacramento, Elica’s newest location was previously known as the Harbor Medical Clinic. This acquisition represents our first purchase of a private medical practice since 1999, when Midtown Medical Center was purchased by Elica’s founders.
Despite formerly being a for-profit medical practice, Harbor’s patient population represents a very similiar demographic to Elica’s target population, including a significant percentage of patients from local immigrant communities, including Russian, Latin and East Asian/Indian.
We are pleased that six members of Harbor’s staff are now employees of Elica, including two medical assistants, Irina Bula and Alla Vinnikova; three front desk clerks, Nadezhda Kadyra, Angela Kadyra and Larisa Mazurenko; and Office Manager Larisa Zemlyankin. The health center will initially be staffed by providers, Rodney Faucett, DO, Rowena Nolasco, FNP, and Ofili Okolonwamu, FNP. Like Elica’s other intermitents, the Harbor site will be open 30 hours per week, specifically Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 am – noon and 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm.
We anticipate that once the renovations of the Halyard facility in West Sacramento are completed, Harbor’s patients will receive their services at that location. While no final decision has been made, the vacated space on Harbor Blvd. may house an ancillary health service, such as Optometry.
We strive to provide high quality, affordable health care for underserved populations, who are confronted with barriers to accessing care.
