Yarmarka 2019

On May 18th, Afisha Media hosted its multicultural event Yarmarka. The rain was expected, but Elica Health Centers was there, despite the weather, to educate the community about our services. Elica Health Centers is an organization with a vast Slavic patient population, so we were more than happy to have our presence at Yamarka to connect with the community.
Yarmarka took place at Southside Park; the event celebrated Slavic culture for the Russian and Ukrainian community. However, Yamarka is open to all people of all backgrounds. The goal of Yarmarka is to bring back the festive spirit with music, dancing, and connecting with local businesses and organizations.
Elica Health Centers was there to promote our medical clinics and our dental program. Did you know that Elica will be expanding this year? By the end of 2019, we will have two new locations in the Northern Sacramento area.
We met with the community and spoke to them about our services and handed out brochures in the Russian language. We handed out hand sanitizers, stress balls, drawstring backpacks, and other Elica giveaway items to the event goers.
During the event, our medical assistant, Antonina, took participant’s blood pressure inside our mobile clinic. Did you know our mobile clinic travels across the Sacramento county? Elica Health Centers Street Medicine Program tends to the homeless community, and our Health On Wheels goes to elementary schools to provide the students with wellness exams, vaccines, physicals, and much more.

Alla, another medical assistant, assisted with booking appointments for patients, and for some, it was their first time becoming an Elica patient.

Thank you to Afisha Media for hosting this fantastic event and having Elica Health Centers! We look forward to being there again next year.
