The success of our Wellness Outside Walls activities, particularly with the Street Medicine and Health on Wheels programs, is often achieved with the help of partnerships that Elica has entered into to further our ability to deliver care beyond our clinic walls.
For example, the Health on Wheels program in support of school-based health care would not have been possible without the participation of the San Juan Unified School District. The experience gained in working with SJUSD has helped Elica's HOW program to provide services to other schools in the Sacramento area and will continue to do so as we add additional mobile clinic vehicles.
Another important partnership for Elica is between our Street Medicine program and the Sacramento Police Department's (SPD) IMPACT Team and their efforts to provide care for some of the highest need members of the homeless population, which can reduce the cycle of arrests that these individuals typically experience.
Elica has also been working with Sacramento STEPS Forward as part of the partnership with the SPD and on several other fronts in the effort to assist the homeless who are part of our community.
Other groups with which Elica works, include St. Francis House, Yolo County Housing, WEAVE Inc., Family Promise of Sacramento, Wind Youth Services, Twin Rivers School District, First Step Pilgramage, River City Food Bank, and more.
