At Elica Health Centers, “Healing with Heart” is more than just a slogan – it is the guiding principle behind everything we do.
We are proud of our roots, which can be traced back to 1979 and the establishment of a small group practice to serve the primary care needs of the Sacramento region's emerging immigrant populations. Two decades later, the practice became a non-profit community health center and added a second clinic located in West Sacramento.
Elica’s core structure and identity continues to be influenced by the courage and fortitude exhibited by those who strive to improve their lives, characteristics that have informed our mission to provide high quality, affordable health care through the operation of professional and compassionate health homes for low income, uninsured and underinsured multi‐ethnic populations throughout the greater Sacramento area.
The health professionals at Elica Health Centers are dedicated to providing patient‐centered care to people from all walks in life, regardless of their ability to pay. They strive to create a better model of care –– one that is carried out in a multilingual and culturally competent environment
Responding to implementation of the Affordable Care Act and the newly insured it added to the marketplace, Elica has grown tremendously over the past few years, adding a third standing clinic located in Sacramento’s Arden Arcade district and a new state-of-the-art mobile health clinic. Also, there has been a 300% increase in both budget and patient volume, with Elica Health Centers accomodating over 60,000 patient visits in 2015. While Elica's expansion has been exciting and challenging, what is most important is that each patient be treated professionally and with a great deal of heart.
